Connect your controller using USB or Bluetooth and press any button.
- Browsers only reveal a pad after it sends its first input — press a face button or move a stick.
- Both USB and Bluetooth work. If nothing appears at all, reconnect the controller and press a button with this page focused.
- Some remapping tools claim the pad before the browser sees it. If nothing shows up, try closing them and reloading.
- Chrome or Edge expose the most controller features, including vibration.

What this finds
Three faults show up here: buttons that never register, buttons that need an unusually hard press before they respond, and buttons that stay held down after you let go.
The tester also watches for inputs that remain pressed for more than twelve seconds, which is the usual signature of a sticky or contaminated contact.
Before you blame the hardware
A single missing button in a browser test is not proof of failure. Remapping software, an unusual mapping, or a worn cable can all swallow an input.
Re-run the test, try another USB port and cable, try Chrome or Edge, and close any controller utility running in the background before concluding the pad is faulty.
Frequently asked questions
- Why are some buttons missing from the list?
- The list mirrors exactly what your browser reports. Pads that do not use the standard mapping often expose fewer buttons, or expose them in a different order.
- My guide or home button does nothing — is it broken?
- Often not. Some operating systems capture that button for themselves before the browser sees it, so it can never reach this page.
- Can this detect double inputs from a worn button?
- Partly. Repeated rapid activations show as the button flickering between states while you hold a single press.
- Does the touchpad count as a button?
- On a DualSense or DualShock 4 the touchpad click is usually exposed as an ordinary button, but touch positions are not available to a web page.
