About GamePadTestLab
GamePadTestLab is an independent browser-based diagnostic lab for game controllers. It exists because most controller testers show you dots moving and stop there.
Why it exists
Someone whose controller has started drifting needs three things quickly: a measurement, an explanation, and a sensible next step. Most testers give only the first, and plenty of sites give none of it while wrapping a heading around a widget.
Every page here attaches an explanation to the number it shows, states the range that counts as normal, and links to the test that answers the next obvious question.
About the developer
GamePadTestLab is built and maintained by a single independent developer with a background in web engineering and a drawer of worn controllers that started the whole thing.
The diagnostics were written against real hardware — DualSense, DualShock 4, Xbox Series, Switch Pro and several generic USB pads — across Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, which is why the site is explicit about features that only some browsers expose.
How it is funded
Advertising, kept away from the controls so it never interferes with testing. There is no paid tier, no account and no data sold, because no controller data leaves your device in the first place.
Independence
GamePadTestLab is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Sony Interactive Entertainment, Microsoft, Nintendo or 8BitDo. Product names are used only to describe compatibility, and no official logos are used.
Results here are browser diagnostic readings and carry no warranty or certification meaning.
