まず確認すべきこと
ドリフトは中古パッドに最も隠れやすい不具合です。スティックに触れていない時にだけ現れるため、意識して探さないと見逃します。まずは静止状態での測定を行ってください。
次に全ボタンを1回ずつ押し、両方のトリガーを最後まで引き、各スティックを縁に沿ってゆっくり回します。この4点の確認だけで、劣化したコントローラーの大半を見抜けます。
見送るべきサイン
静止時のズレがおおむね0.04を超えて安定している、強く押さないと反応しないボタンがある、0まで戻らないトリガーがある、特定の方向でスティックが縁まで届かない、といった症状です。
外観の傷はそれほど重要ではありません。多少使用感があっても数値が正常なパッドの方が、見た目がきれいでも左スティックがドリフトしているパッドより良い買い物です。
証拠を残しておく
支払いを完了する前にレポートカードをダウンロードしておきましょう。日付、コントローラー名、すべての測定値が記録されており、返品や交渉の際に役立ちます。
出品する側であれば、同じレポートを提示することで、スティックとボタンが正常であることを購入者に簡単に示せます。
よくある質問
- 対面で購入する場合、その場で必ず確認すべきことは何ですか？
- 両スティックの静止時のドリフト、すべての前面・肩ボタン、両トリガーが最後まで動くこと、両スティックが全方向で縁まで届くことです。
- 出品者がBluetooth接続しか用意していません。それで十分ですか？
- 十分使えます。ただしBluetoothは更新頻度が低いため、微妙なドリフトの数値が出た場合は、後ほどUSB接続で再確認することをおすすめします。
- どのくらいのドリフトなら見送るべきですか？
- 静止時のズレがおおむね0.04を超えて安定している場合、プレイ中に体感できるレベルであり、スティックモジュールの交換が必要になることが一般的です。
- スマートフォンでもコントローラーをテストできますか？
- モバイルブラウザのBluetooth経由で動作することが多いですが、対応状況はパソコンより不安定です。より確実に確認したい場合は、パソコンでの有線テストをおすすめします。
